Storme DeLarverie ...

No, Storme DeLaverie was not a female impersonator, but she was
perhaps the most known male impersonator. She starred in the
Jewel Box Revue from January 1955 until September 1969.
They advertized "25 Men and a Girl," and she was the girl,
mostly playing emcee.

A wonderful documentary on her was made in 1987, called
"Storme, Lady of the Jewel Box," and I grabbed some stills from it.
