FROM LONDON ENGLAND (regarding pics above and below)

Rogers & Starr had considerable success in mainstream West End shows in the
early 7O's and were excellent performers. I did see them on a few occasions.

The attached programme biog is from the Hullabaloo revue whic was in 1972.
I see from this that R&S can claim one substantial distinction having being
featured in the film Staircase. It is years since I saw this but do vaguely recall
them around the credits. I hope this information is of use.

Thanks for your site which is an excellent resource.
With best wishes.

The Spinning Wheel (Seattle)

HERE IS AN ITEM THAT HAS HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE TO SEATTLE
WASHINGTON AND THE GAY COMMUNITY. IT IS A SOUVENIR PHOTOGRAPH
HOLDER WITH PHOTO FROM ONE OF THE EARLY BARS OR CABARETS OF
SEATTLE THAT WAS OPEN TO BOTH STRAIGHTS AND THE GAY COMMUNITY.
"THE SPINNING WHEEL" AT 2ND & UNION IN SEATTLE WASHINGTON.
DID A LITTLE CHECKING AND FOUND OUT THAT IN THE 1930'S THERE
WAS THREE NIGHTCLUBS IN SEATTLE THAT THE GAY COMMUNITY COULD
GO TO WITHOUT HASSLE.  THEY WERE THE CASINO, THE DOUBLE HEADER
AND THE SPINNING WHEEL. THE SPINNING WHEEL WAS OWN BY STRAIGHTS
BUT WELCOMED  GAYS, LESBIANS AND TRANSVESTITES. THEIR CABARET
FEATURE FEMALE IMPERSONATORS.
