Ballyhoo parody ad ....

"Ballyhoo" was a comic magazine of the early 1930's
that in a way was a forerunner of "Mad Magazine."
It specialized in its parodies of ads, and the one below,
from November, 1931, just screamed for my attention:

  

It's all fiction, and the Theme Song was a nice touch

Fairy Soap was a real brand, begun in 1898 in the UK, and was produced for decades.
Of course the "gay community" loved the camp aspect of their slogan, "have you
a little fairy in your home?"..and you can still buy magnets and prints of the images.

   

The "ad" below, which was on the back of the Faery Soap one, is not gay,
but it tickles me to see the word "denouement" used
